The following instructions describe how to install the Activation
Server on a Windows IIS server.
1. From your ElecKey folder below, upload all files to a folder on your
server.
\ACTIVATIONSERVER\PRECOMPILEDWEB\MANAGER
2. Set the \Database folder as
a shared folder, and set the permissions to allow Modify.
3. From the Control Panel,
select Administrative Tools > Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
4. In the Connections
pane, right-click the Sites node in the tree, and then click Add Web
Site.
5. In the Add Web Site
dialog box, type a friendly name for your Web site in the Web site name
edit box.
6. In the Physical path
edit box, type the physical path of your website folder (e.g.
C:\ActivationServer), or click the Browse button to select the folder.
Then, click OK.
7. To start the web site,
right-click on the web site name, and then click the Manage Web Site/Start.
8. You can now test the
Activation Server. Open a web browser and enter the URL:
http://yourhostname/activationmanager.aspx.

Then, place them to a local path of your server
(e.g. C:\ActivationServer).
2. Set the \Database folder as
a shared folder, and set the permissions to allow Modify.
3. From the Control Panel,
select Administrative Tools > Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
4. Right-click on the Default
Web Site, and then select New > Virtual Directory.
5. The Virtual Directory
Creation Wizard appears. Click the Next button.
6. In the Alias edit
box, enter your virtual directory alias (e.g. ActivationServer).
Click the Next button.
7. In the Directory edit
box, enter the path where the Activation Server files are placed (e.g.
C:\ActivationServer). Click the Next button.
8. Set the virtual directory to
allow the following permissions: Read, Run scripts (such as ASP). Click the Next
button, and then click the Finish button.
9. You can now test the
Activation Server. Open a web browser and enter the URL:
http://yourhostname
/activationmanager.aspx.
