The Status
tab shows the status of the automatic software update system, which includes
release and system identifications.
Release ID is a unique identifier for
each release of the update. It is used in both Client Side and Server Side
index files. The Release ID allows the Updater to determine whether a new
update is available. The Release ID encodes the release date, version number,
Key ID and Program ID.
The
following identifications are needed when you use the UpdateCheck
API to interface your application with the Updater.
Updater ID is a unique identifier for
each Updater. It encodes Key ID and Program ID. The Updater ID allows the application
to identify and interface with its Updater.
